The Jumpsuit
The Jumpsuit is the signature piece of Foundation 5.
It is where the collection begins and where it makes its most considered statement.
Cut from 100% linen in a warm cream colourway, the silhouette is wide and unhurried. Palazzo legs, a composed neckline and a drape that moves with the body rather than against it.
This is not a garment that announces itself loudly.
It earns attention quietly.
The left side is a world of its own.
Fully lined, it is framed in 3cm gold linen, running from the neckline through the armhole and down the side seams, front and back.
The wider 3cm border gives this side authority, a deliberate frame that defines and holds the space.
Then the eye moves across the garment.
Across the right front and back neckline, a hand-embroidered sunray detail fans outward in freehand stitches of DMC old gold and burnt orange.
The embroidery travels towards the shoulder and sleeve before moving down the body, creating a pattern that changes with movement.
Gold and burnt orange do not compete with cream.
They reveal it.
Two worlds.
They meet.
They complement.
And together, they become one.
The Foundation Line continues through the silhouette, following the body with a single, uninterrupted line of stitching before finishing just above the hip.
It creates structure without breaking the generosity of the form.
Within the construction, a left inseam pocket sits flush within the side seam, while a discreet 1cm welt pocket on the right is integrated with the same precision.
Because pockets, like everything here, are not an afterthought.
Every seam is bias bound.
The left side is fully lined.
The invisible zip is concealed within the construction.
Nothing is rushed.
Nothing is added simply for effect.
This is what taking your time looks like.
And then there is the embroidery.
Freehand.
Deliberate.
Impossible to reproduce the same way twice.
The stitches shift as you move, giving the garment a second life in motion, a detail that belongs not only to the design, but to the woman wearing it.
The Jumpsuit does not ask to be understood at first glance.
It invites you to look again.
